When he was younger, he was very pompous and arrogant, and while he's certainly mellowed out as an adult, his ego can still come to the surface from time to time. Despite his sharp wit and even sharper tongue, he still brings himself to assist those in need.

History

Born into an affluent family and living a life of privilege, along with losing his Mother at a young age, Moroaki has always grown up with a silver spoon in his mouth. The middle child of a family of 8 brothers, Moroaki was miraculously chosen to be the heir to his family name (and fortune) this led Moroaki having a chip on his shoulder. 'Spoiled' and 'Arrogant' were the words to describe him, a child that knew full well what his life had granted him. Moroaki wasn't this shining example of what a family heir should be, he was irresponsible and reckless known in the streets of Kugane for being somewhat of a nuisance.Moroaki's father wasn't content with his son just sitting around not knowing how to defend himself, he had a teacher, a sensei. Someone who trained him in the ways of the Samurai, in hopes that he would learn some discipline. But he never did... So he walked away from his training a skilled swordsman... but still an arrogant young man. The Tsurugi family caught the eye of the Garlean Empire, and so the Tsurugi family and the Garlean Empire (or what was stationed in Othard) entered a not so secret partnership. In exchange for supplies and information, the Tsurugis were compensated financially. This continued as Moroaki came into his young adulthood, he was 21 years old when he made the decision to leave his home... without his father's knowledge.The story you'll hear is that Moroaki couldn't stand being another cog in his father's machine and taking over where his father left off. The truth of the matter is that one night, Moroaki overheard his father speaking with Garlean soldiers... About conscripting him into the Garlean army; Moroaki objected to this, after a huge fight, a slap and some not so savory words from Moroaki's father... He snuck out a window in his families house, with nothing but his father's Uchigatana and his departed mother's earrings and snuck off on a frieght ship to Eorzea. Leaving his life behind.Moroaki found that his swordsmanship, the way he carried himself as a fighter revealed too much, so he got pair of Au Ri garments, completely abandoned his Samurai training and took up the more conventional style of an Eorzean Gladiator, and simply refers to himself by his first name... Not that anyone would know who he was. Moroaki's travels have taken him all across Eorzea, he lives life as a sellsword, taking jobs for Gil. Despite all of this, Moroaki still has his chip on his shoulder but his cocky arrogance has mellowed out into a dry wit and silver tongue... Which still gets him in plenty of trouble.

Moroaki is trained in the art of Bushido, meaning he is well versed in the ways of the Samurai. As a result, his precision and quick thinking are clear examples examples of his training.Way of the Gladiator:
To make his Far Eastern origins less obvious, he quickly adopted the stylings of the gladiator, he relies a little bit more on his brute strength. Of course due to the values instilled in him as a samurai, his technique does have a few quirks and can be quite unusual to other gladiators.Pain Tolerance:
